Beginnings
Once upon studying English Literature at Dalhousie University, EliSirene Ship wandered many hallways and particularly the basement of the ever so dark Dalhousie University's Library. It was there, 18 year old EliSirene peaked into a large suite of rooms filled to the brim with letterpress. This basement depot was where all maritime presses, having become obsolete tech, had gone and retired. Relics, which were for the most part in good working order, for they were cared for by a very able steward. This gem, had studied the long way of becoming a printer and bookbinder, doing all his studies and journeyman-ship in England. He told me once he had restored a book purported to have been bound in human flesh. These lte teenaged eyes lit Starry Bright right beaming into one of EliSerene’s true hearts desires. With this, her love of textured print and type fonts was secured. And immediately she signed up for the letterpress open studio and the bookbinding classes that were being offered.
